Velocity

Velocity (speed)

                                 v = d / t

v = velocity
d = distance

t = time

Example:
For a moving object: d = 4000 ft, t = 1 min
v = ? mph (miles per hours)

Solution:
It is given the conversion factor

1 mi = 5280 ft
4000 ft = 0.76 mi
1 min = 1/60 h = 0.017 h

v = d / t = 0.76 mi / 0.017 h = 44.71 mph
